A Fresh Start

My old blog got spammed, and I never took the time to edit/ferret out the stuff. So I just deleted the old blog and decided to start a new one.

What better day to start a new blog than the last day of the earth's existence?

There's a lot to write about.
1. The Christian response to bin Laden's death.
2. My new and emerging bromance with Kansas City Royals' 1B Eric Hosmer.
3. Doomsday prophecies.
4. My Presidential preferences so far.

These things will get attention. Soon enough. But I want to set the tone for this blog by waxing on about some absolutely unrelated and random material.

-I've noticed that a lot of the people who have those "My child is on the honor roll" bumper stickers are some of the worst drivers out there. What, do you think the cop is going to walk up to you after you mowed down 7 kids outside the school and, just before throwing you in the back of the squad car says "Oh I'm SO sorry I had no idea little Johnny was on the Honor Roll at Esperanza Elementary." Sadly enough little Johnny's now 29 and living with his mother while dominating in World of Warcraft.

-Why do NBA fans now all feel the obsession to wear the same color shirt at games? And what kind of peer pressure comes down on that one curmudgeon who refuses to conform? Yeah, so the Lakers completely choked and embarrassed themselves. But at least they don't all look like a kingergarten class that got lost at Staples Center on the way to their field trip at the LA Zoo. Do all the fans sign the back of everyone's shirt?

-I never thought this day would come but it's true. I don't look forward to the Office nearly as much as I look forward to Modern Family and Parks and Recreation. I would love to hang out with Phil Dunphy and Ron Swanson. Behold, the Swanson Pyramid of Greatness:

-The Block Party is tomorrow. Yes, the time in which the forces of nature converge to bring cold, wind, rain, sleet, F-4 tornadoes, hail, earthquakes, rioting, civil unrest in Botswana, and unusual heating of the earth's core. But as long as the grills are grilling, the horses are horsing, and the people are eating, it's all good.
